Boat engines stolen in London Apprentice burglary

Burglary at marine equipment supplier in Cornwall

According to an article published by the BBC on 12 May 2025, three outboard boat engines were stolen during a burglary at a marine equipment supplier in London Apprentice, near St Austell. The incident occurred between 18:30 BST on 7 May and 09:00 on 8 May.

Devon and Cornwall Police reported that the stolen Suzuki and Yamaha engines, which weigh between 200kg and 300kg, are valued at several thousands of pounds. In addition to the theft, the perpetrators caused tens of thousands of pounds of damage to the boats from which the engines were removed. The suspects also damaged fencing and CCTV cameras at the site during the break-in.

Police have appealed for anyone who witnessed the burglary to come forward with information. Business owners are encouraged to regularly inspect their security systems and perimeter fencing to ensure they remain effective deterrents against unauthorized access.
