Break-in at former fish and chip shop in St Neots
Break-in reported at St Neots restaurant site
According to an article published by Huntspost on 29 July 2024, a former fish and chip shop located at 66 Huntingdon Street in St Neots has been targeted by a break-in. The incident occurred on July 23 between 6pm and 7pm.
Huntspost reports that the premises, previously known as The Codfather, had recently been the subject of a licensing application by owner Yusuf Cimikoglu to re-open the site as a takeaway called Jozef's Kitchen. Following a Huntingdonshire District Council licensing sub-committee meeting on July 9, the application to sell alcohol at the location was refused.
Cambridgeshire Police confirmed that during the break-in, the doors of the building were broken and the toilet was smashed. It remains unknown if any items were stolen from the site. Authorities have stated that no arrests have been made in connection with the incident at this time.
Business owners are encouraged to ensure that all entry points are securely locked and monitored to deter unauthorized access to vacant or closed premises.
