BRPD Links December ATM Theft Suspect to 'Bleeda' Gang

BATON ROUGE, LA โ€” The Baton Rouge Police Department has revealed that a suspect arrested in connection with a December ATM theft is believed to have active ties to the local street gang known as "Bleeda." The arrest represents a significant step in the department's ongoing crackdown on organized street-level crime and commercial thefts.

According to police reports, the theft occurred in December when a group of individuals targeted a local automated teller machine, using heavy equipment to breach the security safe and escape with cash. Detectives utilized surveillance footage and forensic evidence from the scene to identify and track down the suspect.

Following his arrest, the suspect was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on charges including theft, criminal damage to property, and participating in criminal street gang activity. The BRPD has stated that the investigation remains active as they work to identify additional suspects associated with both the ATM theft and the street gang.
