Burglar Jailed After Terrorizing Preston City Centre Shops and Bars in Smashed-Window Spree

A serial burglar who terrorized businesses in Preston city centre has been jailed after embarking on a disruptive crime spree. The offender targeted numerous shops, restaurants, and bars, using force to smash his way through front windows and glass doors during the night.

Once inside the commercial properties, the burglar targeted cash registers and high-value alcohol. The spree caused significant financial losses and physical damage, leaving independent business owners with extensive cleanup costs and repair bills. Business owners in the city centre expressed relief at the sentencing, noting that the break-ins had caused severe anxiety among local staff and trade associations.

Following a coordinated response by Lancashire Constabulary, officers identified the suspect through CCTV footage and forensic evidence recovered from the scenes of the break-ins. He was arrested, charged, and has now been handed a custodial sentence at court.
