Newsandstar reports that the incident at the private residence occurred after a woman heard a noise and discovered the intruder in her living room at 7.30am. The woman confronted the man, who was rummaging through her belongings, and managed to push him out of the house. Items stolen from the property included a passport, a backpack, and a watch.

Shortly after, the defendant was apprehended at the Stony Holme Golf Club after a burglar alarm was triggered. Staff at the club detained the man until police arrived. The court heard that the defendant, who has a significant history of previous offenses, was found in possession of items stolen from the residence. The homeowner reported a lasting impact on her sense of security, while the golf club suffered financial losses due to the intrusion.
