Burglars Strike 7 Businesses in 2-Hour Spree on Chicago's North and Northwest Sides

CHICAGO, IL — The Chicago Police Department has launched an intensive investigation following a rapid-fire commercial burglary spree that targeted seven different businesses across the city's North and Northwest Sides within a span of just two hours.

According to police reports, the break-ins occurred in the early morning hours, with the suspects moving quickly from one location to the next. The crew targeted retail businesses and eateries, utilizing forced entry to gain access inside. Once indoors, the burglars focused primarily on cash registers, stealing the cash drawers containing the night's receipts and fleeing before officers could arrive on the scene.

The spree has left local business owners shaken and facing costly repairs for shattered storefront glass and damaged doors. Detectives believe the same group is responsible for all seven incidents due to the similar methods used and the tight timeline of the crimes.
