Burglars Target Chicago Municipal Employees Credit Union in Galewood, Steal ATM

CHICAGO — Police are investigating after an automated teller machine (ATM) was stolen from a financial institution in Chicago's Galewood neighborhood on the city's West Side.

According to the Chicago Police Department, burglars gained entry to the Chicago Municipal Employees Credit Union. Once inside, the perpetrators managed to detach and remove an entire ATM from the premises before fleeing the scene.

Authorities have not yet released descriptions of the suspects or details regarding the vehicle used in the heist. Credit union officials are working with investigators to determine the total value of the stolen cash and assess the damage to the property.
