Burglary and Arrests in South Topeka
On June 8, 2026, two separate incidents occurred in south Topeka, Kansas. In the first incident, a 24-year-old man was arrested following an overnight burglary. The suspect broke into a residence and stole items valued at approximately $5,000. The modus operandi involved forced entry through a rear window. The suspect escaped on foot but was later apprehended by police.
In the second incident, a 43-year-old Topeka man was arrested after an attempted burglary. The suspect was caught in the act of trying to break into a different residence in the same area. The police responded to a call and arrived at the scene to find the suspect attempting to gain entry through a front door. No injuries were reported in either incident. The police have appealed to the public for any additional information that could aid in their investigation.
