Burglary at a business in Retford
According to an article published on 29 December 2025 by Sheffieldstar, two men have been arrested following a burglary at a storage warehouse on Aurillac Way in Retford. The incident occurred shortly after 1am on Saturday, December 27.
Sheffieldstar reports that offenders gained entry to the premises by cutting through fencing and removing bricks from an external wall. Once inside, they stole more than £10,000 worth of collectible Pokémon cards. The warehouse alarm system alerted police to the break-in.
Authorities tracked a van linked to the crime, which was observed travelling on cloned number plates through South Yorkshire towards Manchester. The vehicle was intercepted at a storage yard in Greater Manchester, where two men, aged 24 and 26 from Leeds, were caught unloading the stolen goods. Officers also recovered tools, including a sledgehammer, from the van. Police enquiries are ongoing to identify any further individuals connected to the burglary.
Business owners are encouraged to ensure their alarm systems are regularly tested and that perimeter security is maintained to deter unauthorized access.
