Burglary at a business premises in Retford

Commercial burglary in Retford

According to an article published by Westbridgfordwire on 29 December 2025, two men have been arrested following a burglary at a storage warehouse in Aurillac Way, Retford. The incident occurred on Saturday, 27 December, shortly after 1am.

Westbridgfordwire reports that suspects gained entry to the premises by cutting through fencing and removing bricks from a wall. Once inside, they stole Pokémon cards valued at more than £10,000. The building’s alarm system alerted officers to the break-in.

Following the activation of the alarm, authorities used CCTV footage to identify a van displaying cloned number plates. The vehicle was tracked through South Yorkshire to a storage yard in Manchester. Officers intercepted the van and discovered two men, aged 24 and 26, from Leeds, in the process of unloading the stolen goods. A number of tools, including a sledgehammer, were recovered from the vehicle. Both men were arrested on suspicion of burglary, and the investigation remains ongoing to identify any further offenders.

Business owners are encouraged to regularly review and upgrade their security measures, including alarm systems and perimeter fencing, to deter potential intruders.
