Charity shop targeted in Worksop

According to an article published on 1 May 2026 by Nottinghampost, a British Heart Foundation charity shop in Worksop was targeted by a gang of burglars. The incident occurred during the early hours of 25 January 2025.

Nottinghampost reports that the shop was broken into twice. During the incidents, the offenders stole a 42-inch television, two computers, and a donation box that had been chained to the counter. The store manager described the event as a “ruthless act” that left the shop, which she called a “beacon of hope,” feeling “ravaged.”

Nottingham Crown Court heard that the keys to the shop had been accidentally left in the shutter by a worker the previous afternoon. Three individuals were involved in the burglaries. Two of the men were previously sentenced, and the final member of the group, 32-year-old Carl Pritchard, was recently handed a 10-month jail sentence after pleading guilty to burglary.

Business owners are encouraged to ensure that all keys are removed from locks and stored securely before leaving their premises at the end of the day.
