High-value theft at Peterborough gaming shop
According to an article published on 4 February 2026 by ITV, a collectable card shop in Orton Southgate, Peterborough, was targeted in a significant burglary. Shop owner Juliano Scibelli estimates that up to ยฃ100,000 worth of Pokรฉmon, football, and baseball trading cards were stolen during the raid.
ITV reports that CCTV footage captured a suspect wearing a balaclava forcing entry into the premises on the night of 28 January. The intruder spent nearly half an hour inside, taking sealed boxes of cards and ยฃ8,000 in cash from the till. Some of the stolen individual cards were valued between ยฃ2,000 and ยฃ5,000 each.
Cambridgeshire Police confirmed they are investigating the burglary, which occurred between 6pm on 27 January and 9am on 28 January at Culley Court. A spokesperson stated that officers attended the scene on a scheduled appointment five hours after the incident was reported. No arrests have been made at this time. Mr. Scibelli expressed frustration regarding the police response time and the perceived lack of urgency in investigating the theft of high-value collectibles.
