According to an article published on 1 December 2025, a popular deli in Truro was the target of a burglary. Cornwalllive reports that the incident occurred at approximately 2:30am on Wednesday, 26 November, at a commercial premises located on New Bridge Street.
According to Cornwalllive, the perpetrators gained entry by smashing the door with a beer barrel. Once inside, the business was ransacked, with cash and stock stolen. The owners reported that the intruders also brought external items into the premises, including a Christmas tree, cushions, and a bag of rubbish. Following the event, Devon and Cornwall Police confirmed that a man in his 20s from Hampshire was arrested on suspicion of burglary.
Owner David Hampshaw noted that while the business managed to open later that morning, the incident caused significant financial and emotional distress. The deli owners praised the local police for their prompt response and expressed gratitude for the support received from the local community.
