Theft of boat engines in London Apprentice

According to an article published on 12 May 2025, Bbc reports that three boat engines have been stolen during a burglary at a marine equipment supplier in London Apprentice, near St Austell. The incident occurred between 18:30 BST on 7 May and 09:00 on 8 May.

According to Bbc, the stolen outboard engines are of Suzuki or Yamaha make and weigh between 200kg and 300kg. The value of the stolen items is estimated at several thousands of pounds. Devon and Cornwall Police stated that the perpetrators also caused tens of thousands of pounds of damage to the boats from which the engines were removed. Additionally, fencing and CCTV cameras at the business premises were damaged during the break-in.

Police have requested that anyone who witnessed the burglary contact them with information. Business owners are encouraged to regularly review and reinforce their physical security measures to deter unauthorized access to high-value equipment.
