Police investigate perfume shop break-in in Brighton

According to an article published by Sussexexpress on 29 January 2026, Sussex Police are investigating a burglary at Penhaligon's, a perfume shop located on East Street in Brighton.

The incident was reported in the early hours of Thursday, 29 January. According to Sussexexpress, four individuals wearing balaclavas and dark clothing were observed leaving the premises at approximately 1:40 am. The shop's door and a window had been smashed during the break-in. The suspects were seen fleeing the scene in a blue VW Golf, which was fitted with false number plates, driving from Old Steine towards London Road.

Officers are actively investigating the incident. Authorities have requested that anyone with information contact the police on 101, quoting serial 54 of 29/01. Information can also be provided anonymously to the charity Crimestoppers.

Business owners are encouraged to ensure that their premises are equipped with visible security systems and reinforced entry points to help deter unauthorized access.
