According to an article published by Plymouthlive on 31 December 2025, police are investigating a burglary at the Londis petrol station in Yealmpton. The incident occurred at 9:45pm on Tuesday, December 30.
Plymouthlive reports that a white or silver vehicle, noted to have a faulty near-side light, arrived at the premises from the direction of Plymouth. While one individual remained in the car, a second person used a small axe to smash the shop door and gain entry. The perpetrator proceeded to steal alcohol, vapes, and cigarettes after forcing open a cabinet.
The suspects fled the scene within minutes, performing a U-turn at Elm Tree Park before heading back toward Plymouth with the vehicle's lights turned off. Ivybridge and Rural Police are currently appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward, citing crime reference number 50250332026.
Business owners are encouraged to ensure their security systems are regularly tested and that high-value stock is stored in reinforced cabinets to deter potential intruders.
