Burglary at a pharmacy in Coltishall

Break-in at Wellbeing Pharmacy

According to an article published on 5 March 2026 by Eveningnews24, a man has pleaded guilty to burglary following an incident at the Wellbeing Pharmacy in Coltishall. The defendant, identified as 29-year-old Daniel Walpole, admitted to using a hammer to smash a shop window to gain entry to the premises.

Eveningnews24 reports that the perpetrator stole numerous boxes of prescription drugs, specifically Codeine Phosphate and Diazepam. During proceedings at Great Yarmouth Magistrates' Court, the defense noted that the individual had been struggling with addictions to prescribed medication at the time of the incident.

The court has ordered a pre-sentence report, and Walpole is scheduled to be sentenced on 10 April in Norwich. He has been released on conditional bail, which explicitly prohibits him from returning to the Wellbeing Pharmacy. Ensuring robust physical security measures, such as reinforced glass or alarm systems, is essential for protecting commercial premises against unauthorized entry.
