Theft at Carlisle Rugby Club
According to an article published on 17 July 2025 by Cumbriacrack, a burglary occurred at the Carlisle Rugby Club off Warwick Road. The incident took place on the evening of Thursday, July 10, while players were training nearby.
Cumbriacrack reports that 41-year-old Kevin Bigg entered the premises as a trespasser and stole several personal items, including mobile phones and iPods. In a notable development, the prosecutor stated that Bigg took a selfie on one of the stolen mobile phones. While one device was sold, it was later tracked down by its owner. Upon his arrest, Bigg was found in possession of the stolen iPods.
During a hearing at Carlisle Magistrates Court, Bigg admitted to the burglary. The case has been adjourned until August 8 for sentencing, pending a pre-sentence report. The defendant has been granted conditional bail, which includes a prohibition against visiting the rugby club.
Business owners are encouraged to keep all valuable personal items secured in locked areas away from public-facing zones to prevent opportunistic theft.
