According to an article published on 24 August 2025, police are investigating a burglary at a Spar convenience store located on New Road in Portsmouth. The incident occurred early on the morning of Sunday, 24 August.

Portsmouth reports that two unknown males, both wearing balaclavas, gained entry to the premises by smashing the front window. One of the suspects was observed carrying an axe during the commission of the crime. The pair successfully stole a quantity of cigarettes and vape products before fleeing the scene.
