According to an article published on 5 February 2026 by Plymouthlive, a man is currently in custody following a burglary at an auction house located on Stonehouse Street in Stonehouse. The incident occurred on the evening of Tuesday, February 3, at approximately 10pm.
Plymouthlive reports that the suspect gained access to the building and removed watches and jewellery with an estimated value of ยฃ25,000. Following an examination of CCTV footage, staff identified a suspect. Police subsequently attended a property in Grizedale Road, Eggbuckland, where a man in his 50s was arrested on suspicion of burglary. He remains in custody at Charles Cross police station.
Detectives from Plymouth's Priority Policing Team have recovered a quantity of suspected stolen items. Authorities are requesting that any other auction houses in the Plymouth area contact them if they have been approached by an individual attempting to sell similar goods.
