Burglary at Charlton Kings Post Office

According to Uknewsyahoo, the Charlton Kings Post Office in Cheltenham was targeted in a burglary during the early hours of Tuesday, 19 May 2026. The incident occurred while the premises were closed, between midnight and 12.30am.

Gloucestershire Constabulary reported that three unknown offenders gained entry to the building on Lyefield Road West by forcing the locks on a rear door. Once inside, the individuals were captured on CCTV searching the premises and removing cash, stamps, and cigarettes from the till.

A spokesperson for the Post Office confirmed that the branch has since reopened and that they are supporting the operator, who is currently assisting the police with their investigation. Gloucestershire Constabulary has requested that anyone with information regarding this incident contact them or Crimestoppers, citing incident number 008 of 19/05/2026.

Business owners are encouraged to regularly inspect the security of all rear entrances and ensure that locking mechanisms are reinforced to prevent unauthorized access.
