Burglary at Lanx Shoes in Whalley
According to an article published on 20 January 2026, two men have been arrested following a burglary at the Lanx Shoes store in Whalley. According to Men, police were called to the premises on Mitton Road at 11:47 p.m. on 19 January.
Staff reported that the intruders stole approximately 100 individual shoes, all of which were for the right foot. According to Men, the suspects fled the scene before being pursued by police. A 19-year-old man was apprehended on the A59 following a vehicle chase, and an 18-year-old man was arrested shortly thereafter in Brockhall Village. Both individuals remain in custody on suspicion of burglary.
A staff member noted that the shop does not typically display full pairs of shoes, which may explain why only right-footed footwear was taken during the incident. The business, which handcrafts footwear, continues to operate while police investigations proceed.
Business owners are encouraged to review their security systems and ensure that high-value inventory is properly secured outside of operating hours.
