Equipment stolen from Helmsley Fire Station

According to an article published on 4 February 2026, essential firefighting equipment and tools used for road traffic accidents have been stolen from a fire station in Helmsley, North Yorkshire. The BBC reports that the burglary occurred at Helmsley Fire Station between 01:30 GMT and 02:30 on Sunday.

A spokesperson for the North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that while the fire engine remains operational for emergencies, the stolen equipment will need to be replaced at a significant cost.
