Burglary at Heron Foods supermarket in Nottingham
Supermarket targeted in St Ann's burglary
According to an article published on 6 November 2025 by the Nottinghampost, a burglary occurred at the Heron Foods supermarket on St Ann's Well Road in St Ann's. The incident took place at 12.40am on Saturday, November 1.
Nottinghampost reports that 28-year-old Laighton Thompson was captured on CCTV smashing the glass of an entrance door to gain access to the premises. Footage showed the suspect stealing two crates of beer, before returning ten minutes later to remove two additional crates. Following a review of the security footage, police tracked down the suspect and found alcohol in his possession.
Thompson pleaded guilty to burglary at Nottingham Magistrates' Court on Monday, November 3. He received a six-week prison sentence, suspended for 12 months, and was ordered to pay ยฃ154 in compensation. Additionally, he is subject to a nine-month alcohol treatment requirement. Nottinghamshire Police stated that they treat commercial burglary seriously and will continue to respond robustly to such incidents.
