According to an article published by Sheffieldstar on 14 January 2026, burglars targeted the silver manufacturer P&B Metal Components in Darnall. The company, which produces electrical contacts and switches, is currently in administration.

Sheffieldstar reports that South Yorkshire Police attended the premises twice on Saturday. During the first visit, officers issued a Section 61 notice to a group of approximately 30 individuals found trespassing in the yard. Police returned to the site just over two hours later following reports of a burglary. It is alleged that members of the group stole raw materials from the facility.

A spokesperson for the joint administrators stated that they are working to assess the damage and the extent of the theft. Operations at the site have since restarted, and additional security measures have been implemented to safeguard the premises. South Yorkshire Police conducted a search of the area but did not identify any suspects. Authorities are currently appealing for information regarding the incident, referencing incident number 949.
