According to an article published on 4 April 2026 by Cornwalllive, police are investigating a burglary at The Bearded Brewery bar and bottle shop in St Agnes. The incident occurred at 2am on Wednesday, 1 April.

Cornwalllive reports that thieves smashed their way into the premises and used a sledgehammer to punch out a lock before ripping a safe from the wall. A substantial amount of cash was taken from both the till and the safe during the raid.

In response to the theft, the brewery has announced it will transition to a cashless operation across all its sites, including those in Newquay, Mawgan Porth, and its headquarters in St Mawgan. Site manager Kris Gillespie confirmed that the business has informed the police, though no arrests have been reported at this stage. The brewery is appealing for anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity in St Agnes to contact the authorities immediately.

Business owners are encouraged to review their security measures and consider installing reinforced safes or alarm systems to deter potential intruders.
