Burglary Suspect Flees After Pleading Guilty to Breaking Into Jose Altuve's Home
HOUSTON, Texas โ A 28-year-old man who recently pleaded guilty to burglarizing the home of Houston Astros star second baseman Jose Altuve has gone missing after removing his court-ordered ankle monitor and fleeing law enforcement.
The suspect had entered a guilty plea in connection with the break-in at the baseball player's Houston residence, which occurred during the baseball season. As part of his release conditions pending sentencing, the defendant was required to wear a GPS tracking ankle monitor. However, authorities confirmed that the monitor was tampered with and removed shortly after his plea, and the man's current whereabouts are unknown.
A warrant has been issued for his arrest. Law enforcement agencies are actively searching for the fugitive and have asked the public for any information that could lead to his recapture. Jose Altuve and his family have not commented publicly on the suspect's escape.
