Burglary Suspect Shot by Business Owners Outside North Houston Mechanic Shop

HOUSTON, Texas — An investigation is underway in north Houston after a suspected burglar was shot by business owners outside a local mechanic shop on Friday afternoon, March 14, 2025.

According to the Houston Police Department, the incident occurred at an automotive repair business located in the block of West 18th Street. Officers arrived at the scene following reports of a shooting and discovered an individual suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Emergency services immediately transported the wounded suspect to a nearby hospital; their current medical condition has not yet been publicly disclosed.

Preliminary reports indicate that the owners of the mechanic shop confronted the individual, whom they suspected of attempting to burglarize the premises. During the confrontation, the situation escalated, resulting in the business owners discharging a firearm and striking the suspect. The business owners remained at the scene and are cooperating fully with law enforcement investigators.
