Burglary Suspects Evade Police in High-Speed Pursuit from Costa Mesa to Lakewood

COSTA MESA, CA — A group of burglary suspects led Southern California law enforcement officers on a high-speed vehicle pursuit on Monday morning, stretching from Costa Mesa to Lakewood before the suspects were taken into custody.

The pursuit began after Costa Mesa officers attempted to pull over a vehicle suspected of involvement in a local burglary. Instead of stopping, the driver accelerated, initiating a chase that spanned several freeways. Multiple agencies, including the California Highway Patrol, assisted in monitoring the fleeing vehicle.

The pursuit concluded in the city of Lakewood, where the suspects finally stopped and attempted to flee on foot. Officers quickly established a perimeter and arrested the suspects. Charges are pending for commercial burglary, felony evasion, and reckless driving.
