A brazen burglar in Cardiff has been caught after stealing bankcards from a local residence and using them to treat himself to a sit-down meal at an Indian restaurant in the city. The unusual turn of events helped police track down and arrest the suspect shortly after the break-in.

According to South Wales Police, the intruder forced entry into a residential property in Cardiff, targeting personal belongings and stealing multiple bankcards. Instead of laying low, the thief immediately went to a local Indian restaurant and used the compromised cards to purchase a meal.

Detectives tracing the transaction history of the stolen cards quickly contacted the restaurant, obtained description details and surveillance footage, which led to the identification and subsequent arrest of the suspect.
