Cardiff Queen Street: Shop Owner Devastated After £25,000 Worth of Stock Stolen in Burglary

A business owner on Cardiff's prominent Queen Street has spoken of their devastation after their shop was burglarized, resulting in the loss of stock valued at approximately £25,000. The incident, which took place in the heart of the city's main shopping district, has raised concerns about security in the city centre.

The thieves managed to bypass security measures to gain access to the premises, systematically clearing out high-value merchandise. The shop owner, who has invested heavily in building the business, described the theft as a massive setback, both financially and emotionally, particularly during a challenging economic climate for retail businesses.

South Wales Police are currently investigating the commercial burglary. Officers have carried out forensic investigations at the scene and are examining public and private CCTV footage from Queen Street and nearby lanes. Retailers in the city centre are being advised to remain vigilant and review their security protocols in light of the high-value heist.
