CCTV Released After Attempted Burglary Near Sutton Park Beauty Spot
Detectives investigating an attempted break-in near a popular local beauty spot in Sutton Coldfield have released CCTV images of a suspect. The incident has raised security concerns among residents living in close proximity to the scenic park area, which attracts numerous visitors daily.
Late-Night Break-In Attempt
The incident occurred at a residential property situated near the edge of the beauty spot. Security cameras captured an individual attempting to force entry through a ground-floor window at the rear of the house. Fortunately, the security locks held, and the homeowner's alarm system was triggered, forcing the suspect to abandon the attempt and flee into the dark before gaining access to the interior.
CCTV Appeal Launched by Police
In a bid to identify the individual responsible, West Midlands Police have published clear CCTV stills showing a person of interest wearing a hooded jacket and gloves. Officers are hoping that members of the public might recognize the clothing, build, or gait of the suspect. Neighbors are also being asked to check their own private security cameras or video doorbells for any unusual activity during the night of the incident.
Security Tips for Parkside Residents
Properties bordering parks and large open green spaces can be more vulnerable to intrusion due to natural cover and easier access. Police have advised residents in the area to review their home security, ensure outdoor security lighting is fully functional, and lock all gates and windows. Anyone with information regarding the identity of the person in the CCTV images is urged to contact the police using their online portal or by calling the non-emergency line.
