Charges Filed in Waikiki Restaurant Robbery as HPD Seeks Additional Suspects

HONOLULU, Hawaii — The Honolulu Police Department and local prosecutors have taken major steps in addressing restaurant crime in the metro area, resulting in felony charges against one suspect and active searches for others. The incidents highlight ongoing security challenges in the city's food and beverage sector.

On December 1, 2025, an armed robbery took place at a restaurant in the tourist hub of Waikiki. A male suspect allegedly threatened employees and patrons with a weapon before fleeing. Following a swift investigation by HPD, a suspect was apprehended and subsequently charged with multiple felonies, including first-degree robbery and carrying a firearm in the commission of a crime.

In a separate but notable incident, Honolulu police are also seeking three suspects involved in a burglary at a restaurant in late January 2026.
