Charity shop burglarized in Hinckley
Break-in reported at Hinckley charity shop
According to an article published by Leicestermercury on 30 March 2026, the Headway charity shop located on Station Road in Hinckley was targeted by a burglar. The incident occurred between 5pm on Saturday, 28 March, and 7.35am on Sunday, 29 March.
Leicestermercury reports that the intruder used a large rock to smash a side window to gain entry. The perpetrator fled the scene with an empty till and a donation box containing only 13p. The shop manager noted that the damage to the window will cost ยฃ800 plus VAT to repair, and the business was forced to remain closed for a day. This marks the second burglary at the premises in the past 14 months.
Leicestershire Police have confirmed they are investigating the incident and have appealed for any witnesses to come forward. Information can be reported to the force by calling 101, quoting crime number 26*179984.
Business owners are encouraged to ensure that all cash registers are left empty and clearly visible from the outside after closing hours to deter potential thieves.
