Cheltenham shop broken into in the early hours

Police are investigating a commercial burglary that took place in the early hours of Sunday, March 22, 2026, at a shop on Ambrose Street in Cheltenham.

The Break-In

According to Gloucestershire Constabulary, the incident occurred between 1:15 am and 1:30 am. CCTV footage from the area caught an offender smashing the glass panel of the shop's front door to gain entry. Once inside, the intruder targeting the cash till removed £100 in cash and stole an iPad Air before fleeing the scene.

Police Appeal

Officers were called to the premises on Monday, March 23, and have launched an investigation. Local police are conducting CCTV enquiries and are appealing to the public for any information or dashcam footage from Ambrose Street and the surrounding town centre area during the time of the break-in. Businesses in the area have also been urged to ensure their security systems are fully operational and to report any suspicious activity.
