Chicago Police Search for Serial Pharmacy Thief Targeting North Side Neighborhoods

CHICAGO, IL — The Chicago Police Department has issued a community alert warning business owners and residents about a serial pharmacy thief who has targeted multiple stores across the city's North Side lakefront neighborhoods, including Rogers Park, Edgewater, and East Lakeview.

Modus Operandi: Pharmacy Counter Jumps

According to Area Three detectives, the suspect's pattern involves entering pharmacies, immediately walking back to the pharmacy department, and jumping over the service counter. Once behind the counter, the thief quickly grabs bottles of liquid and pill-based narcotics before fleeing. The suspect has been observed escaping on a black electric scooter, allowing him to navigate city streets and alleys rapidly.

List of Target Locations

The thefts occurred throughout the month of October 2025. Police have linked the suspect to the following specific incidents:

  • Rogers Park: Incidents in the 1200 and 1500 blocks of West Devon Avenue, and the 6500 block of North Sheridan Road.
  • Edgewater: Thefts in the 5300 block of North Broadway and the 5600 block of North Ridge Avenue.
  • East Lakeview: A theft in the 3000 block of North Broadway.

Suspect Description and Contact Information

The suspect is described as a male who has been seen wearing distinct black and white shoes. During some of the robberies, he wore an orange zip-up hooded sweatshirt, while in others he was seen wearing camouflage pants.

CPD is urging pharmacy employees to remain vigilant and report any suspicious individuals matching this description or riding an electric scooter near store entrances.

Additionally, investigators are reviewing security footage from inside the targeted pharmacies. Businesses in the area are advised to secure restricted areas and ensure their surveillance systems are fully operational.
