Chicago Police Search for Suspects in Three South Side Business Burglaries

CHICAGO, IL — The Chicago Police Department has issued a community alert seeking the public's assistance in identifying several suspects wanted in connection with a series of recent business burglaries across the city's South Side. According to authorities, the incidents occurred within a short timeframe, suggesting a coordinated or sequential effort by the perpetrators.

The first burglary occurred early in the morning in the Woodlawn neighborhood, where suspects forced entry through the front glass door of a commercial property. Once inside, they quickly targeted the cash register and high-value inventory before fleeing the scene in a waiting vehicle. Within hours, two additional businesses in the Chatham and Englewood areas were targeted in a similar fashion, with front entry points breached and registers emptied.

Detectives have released surveillance descriptions of the suspects, who are described as wearing dark clothing, masks, and gloves to conceal their identities. Area One detectives are actively investigating the pattern and are urging business owners to review their security camera footage from the early morning hours of June 21, 2024.
