Child robbed of electric bike in Coatbridge park

Robbery reported in West End Park

According to an article published on 19 February 2026 by the Glasgowtimes, a 12-year-old boy was robbed of his electric bike in West End Park, Coatbridge. The incident occurred at approximately 4:30pm on Wednesday, 11 February 2026.

The suspect is described as a white man of average height and slim build, with ginger hair and stubble. At the time of the incident, he was wearing dark clothing. Following the robbery, the man was seen heading towards King Street and was later observed in the Waverley Drive area.

Police are currently conducting enquiries and are appealing for witnesses or anyone with relevant private CCTV or dash-cam footage to come forward. Information can be provided by calling 101, quoting incident number 2966 of 11 February, or anonymously via Crimestoppers at 0800 555 111. Detective Constable Glenn Coletta noted that while the victim was not physically injured, he was left extremely shaken by the encounter.
