Chilling Details Emerge in Las Vegas Home Invasion Leading to Fatal Officer-Involved Shooting
LAS VEGAS, NV โ New details have emerged from court documents detailing the chaotic and tragic home invasion in Las Vegas that resulted in the fatal shooting of Brandon Durham, the 31-year-old homeowner who originally called 911 for help.
According to investigators, the suspect, 26-year-old Alejandra Boudreaux, entered Durham's residence wearing ski goggles and brandishing a knife. She was reportedly experiencing a mental health crisis and expressed a desire for responding police officers to kill her.
A Fatal Confrontation
When Metropolitan Police Department officers arrived at the scene, they entered the home and encountered Durham struggling with Boudreaux over the knife. Officer Alexander Bookman discharged his firearm, striking and killing Durham. Boudreaux was subsequently detained without further injuries.
Documents indicate that Boudreaux later remarked to investigators that the police had "killed the wrong person." The shooting has sparked widespread outrage and calls for an independent investigation into police training and response protocols during active home invasions.
