Clarence Wilson Arrested Following Series of Commercial Burglaries in Lincoln
LINCOLN, Nebraska โ A major breakthrough in a series of commercial break-ins has led to the arrest of a 34-year-old Lincoln resident. The Lincoln Police Department (LPD) announced that Clarence Wilson was apprehended in May 2026, following a thorough investigation into a string of business burglaries that occurred between late March and mid-May 2026.
The investigation initially intensified after two high-profile break-ins occurred on the morning of April 15, 2026. Authorities responded to reports of forced entry at Romantix, an adult novelty store located near 10th and South Streets, and Capital City Sports Cards, located near 59th Street and Old Cheney Road. In both instances, the burglar utilized smash-and-grab tactics, shattering glass entryways to gain rapid access to the businesses' interior merchandise.
Valuable Memorabilia and Merchandise Stolen
At Romantix, the suspect managed to flee with approximately $940 worth of inventory. Meanwhile, the break-in at Capital City Sports Cards resulted in significant physical damage and loss. The perpetrator shattered glass display cases inside the shop, stealing valuable items including Pokรฉmon trading cards and Nebraska Cornhuskers sports memorabilia. The physical damage to the sports card store alone was estimated to be in the thousands of dollars, compounding the financial impact of the stolen inventory.
Search Warrant and Arrest
Following weeks of detective work, LPD investigators identified Wilson as the prime suspect. Police executed a search warrant at Wilson's residence, uncovering a stash of stolen goods that directly tied him to the crimes. Among the recovered items were sports cards, memorabilia, and adult items matching the inventory reports from the burglarized locations. In addition to Romantix and Capital City Sports Cards, Wilson is accused of targeting four other local establishments, including Rosari's Kitchen, Variedades El Quentzal, and Lobo City Mex.
Wilson was booked into the Lancaster County Jail and faces six counts of burglary. LPD officials thanked the community and business owners for their cooperation, noting that surveillance footage played a crucial role in tracking down the suspect.
