Cocaine-Fueled Robbery Spree at Joliet Gas Stations Solved with Arrest

JOLIET, IL — A series of armed robberies targeting gas stations across Joliet, including a Circle K and locations along Route 59 and downtown, has been resolved following a multi-agency investigation and arrest by the Joliet Police Department.

The robbery spree began on July 8, 2025, when a suspect fled behind a local gas station after a robbery and was initially apprehended by police. As the investigation widened, detectives linked additional robberies from July to September 2025 to the same pattern. These included an armed robbery at a downtown gas station and another heist at a Route 59 station.

According to prosecutors, during court proceedings, the suspect admitted that a severe cocaine addiction motivated the robbery spree. Surveillance footage and community tips, including a widely circulated security photo that helped identify a person of interest, were critical in securing charges. The Joliet Police Department officially solved the final cases in mid-September 2025, landing the suspect in Will County Jail under multiple counts of armed robbery.
