Colorado Man Arrested by Cheyenne Police After Car Dealership Burglary

CHEYENNE, Wyoming โ€” A Colorado resident has been arrested by the Cheyenne Police Department following an overnight burglary at a local vehicle dealership. The suspect was apprehended near the scene of the crime after triggering building security alarms.

Dealership Security Alarms Alert Officers

The break-in took place in the early morning hours at a car dealership located along one of Cheyenne's major commercial corridors. The suspect allegedly shattered a glass window to gain entry to the main showroom and service desk area. Once inside, he searched for vehicle keys and office valuables, triggering the facility's silent alarm system.

Cheyenne police officers arrived on the scene within minutes of the alarm broadcast. Upon searching the exterior of the property, they observed the suspect attempting to flee the area. Following a brief pursuit, officers detained the Colorado man without further incident.

Out-of-State Suspect Faces Multiple Felonies

The arrested individual has been charged with commercial burglary, property destruction, and criminal trespass. Police are working with Colorado authorities to determine if the suspect is connected to similar dealership burglaries in the region. "We appreciate the prompt alarm notification from the dealership, which allowed our officers to arrive quickly and prevent the theft of any vehicles," a police representative stated.
