Commercial burglaries reported in Lochgelly and Burntisland
Break-ins reported at Fife commercial premises
According to an article published on 18 March 2026 by Dailyrecord, police are investigating two separate commercial burglaries that occurred in the early hours of that morning. The incidents involved a group of men seen fleeing the scenes in a dark-coloured Audi.
The first incident took place at approximately 1:30 am at the Totally Hardware store on Burntisland High Street, where suspects attempted to remove an ATM. Shortly after, at 2:00 am, a second break-in occurred at the Premier Store on Auchterderran Road in Lochgelly. According to Dailyrecord, the shopkeeper reported that five men entered the premises through a back door, causing damage to the property and stealing cash, vapes, and cigarettes. The suspects reportedly fled the area, travelling dangerously along the A92 between Kirkcaldy and Cowdenbeath.
Police are currently reviewing CCTV footage from both locations as part of their ongoing investigation. Forensic teams and CID officers have been deployed to the scenes to gather evidence. Business owners are encouraged to review their security measures, including alarm systems and physical barriers, to deter unauthorized access to their premises.
