Burglary at a seafront arcade in Weymouth

According to an article published by Dorsetecho on 2 January 2026, a commercial burglary occurred at an arcade located on The Esplanade in Weymouth. Dorsetecho reports that between 2.40am and 6am on Thursday, January 1, a man wearing a balaclava gained entry to the premises.

Police stated that 16 machines were damaged during the incident, with the total cost of repairs estimated at £10,000. Approximately £4,000 in cash was stolen from the business. Police constable Aaron Strange is appealing for witnesses who may have observed suspicious activity along the seafront or captured relevant CCTV or dashcam footage from the areas of Brunswick Terrace, Greenhill, or Lennox Street.
