Consett Armed Carjacking: Masked Criminals Steal BMW After Threatening Owner with Knife

An investigation is underway in Consett after masked criminals armed with a knife confronted a vehicle owner and drove off with their BMW in a broad-daylight incident.

The victim was threatened at knifepoint by the masked gang who demanded the keys to the vehicle. The suspects escaped in the car, leaving the owner uninjured but severely shaken by the confrontation. Police are treating the incident as an armed carjacking.

Durham Constabulary is asking members of the public who may have witnessed any suspicious behavior or observed a BMW being driven erratically in Consett around the time of the incident to come forward immediately.
