Court Grants State’s Motion to Deny Pre-Trial Release for Chicago Men in Addison Armed Robbery
A DuPage County judge has granted the State’s motion to deny pre-trial release for two Chicago men charged with armed robbery at an Addison gas station. The defendants are accused of executing a coordinated armed heist, brandishing firearms to intimidate gas station employees before fleeing the scene with cash and merchandise. Following a swift response by law enforcement, both suspects were apprehended and subsequently charged with armed robbery, a Class X felony in Illinois. During the court hearing, prosecutors presented compelling evidence of the suspects' involvement and argued that their release would pose a clear threat to public safety. Under the provisions of the Illinois SAFE-T Act, the judge agreed that detention was warranted, ordering both men to be held in custody pending trial. Detective units continue to investigate potential links to other regional armed robberies.
