Crash-and-Grab Burglars Target Chicago South Side Gyro Shop, Steal ATM

A gyro shop located on Chicago's South Side was targeted in a destructive "crash-and-grab" burglary early Tuesday morning, resulting in the theft of an on-site automated teller machine (ATM).

According to local police reports, the suspects utilized a vehicle to crash through the storefront of the establishment, gaining immediate access to the interior. Once inside, the perpetrators quickly targeted and extracted the business's ATM before fleeing the scene in a secondary vehicle.

This incident reflects a continuing trend of crash-and-grab style burglaries targeting small retail businesses and restaurants throughout the Chicago metropolitan area. Store owners are facing mounting repair costs and security challenges as commercial properties are repeatedly vandalized for cash machines.
