Crewe Hot Tub Thief Jailed After Breaching Ban to Target B&Q Again
A persistent thief has been handed a custodial sentence after he repeatedly targeted the Crewe branch of DIY retailer B&Q, defying a court order banning him from all of the chain's stores in Cheshire.
The offender was initially brought to justice after admitting to the theft of a high-value hot tub from the store. Following that incident, Cheshire Police and local courts imposed a strict Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO). The order legally barred him from entering any B&Q retail premises across the entire county of Cheshire in an effort to curb his offending behavior.
Despite the legal restriction, the man returned to the B&Q store in Crewe to commit further offenses. His actions constituted a direct breach of the CBO and led to his prompt arrest by local officers.
Appearing in court, the suspect was sentenced to prison. Cheshire Constabulary welcomed the jail sentence, stating that the decision sends a clear message that court orders must be respected, and repeat offenders who target local businesses will face serious consequences.
