Crewe Man Charged After Takeaway Theft and Damage to Police Vehicle

A Crewe resident is facing prosecution after being arrested in connection with a theft at a West End takeaway and subsequently damaging a police vehicle.

The incident began when police officers were dispatched to reports of a theft at a food outlet in the West End area of Crewe. A suspect was quickly identified and detained by responding officers. However, following his arrest, the individual reportedly caused criminal damage to the police car in which he was being held.

Cheshire Police have confirmed that the suspect has since been formally charged with theft and criminal damage. He remains in custody pending a scheduled court appearance.

Local authorities have reassured residents that theft and retail crime, alongside any form of aggression or vandalism directed at police equipment, will be dealt with robustly. Investigations into the full circumstances of the takeaway incident are ongoing.
