Crime Stoppers Offers Reward After Attempted ATM Theft Causes $25K in Damages

LAS CRUCES, New Mexico โ€” Law enforcement and Crime Stoppers of Las Cruces and Doรฑa Ana County are seeking public assistance to identify a suspect who attempted to steal cash from an ATM, causing tens of thousands of dollars in property damage in the process.

The attempted theft occurred around 8:45 p.m. on Sunday, July 7, 2025, at the First Savings Bank located at 2804 North Telshor Boulevard. According to investigators, the suspect used tools in an attempt to breach the ATM's cash vault. Although the individual was unsuccessful in obtaining any money, the destructive attempt caused an estimated $25,000 in damages to the machine.

To aid the investigation, Crime Stoppers has offered a cash reward of up to $1,000 for any information that leads to the identification and arrest of the suspect. Authorities have emphasized that tips can be submitted completely anonymously.

Anyone with information regarding this attempted theft is encouraged to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or download the 'P3 Tips' mobile application to submit information. The reward is eligible only for tips submitted directly to Crime Stoppers that lead to an arrest.
